He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Boland and Fern Boland (Cheeseman); his wife Marlene; his siblings, Ann Doyle (Joe), Mary Fangman (John), Pat Pfab (Tony), Leo (Gloria), Joe, Bill, Bob, Danny (Pat), Charles and Brian; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Erikson and Herb Honey.
He is survived by: his son Dan Boland (Becky); his grandchildren, Mike Boland of Coralville, Lynne Burkart, Jennifer Mueller (Andy) of Dubuque and Alyssa Boland (Clark Sutfin); his great grandchildren, Joslyn, Cecelia, Lydia Burkart, Levi Boland and Holly Mueller; his brothers, Tony Boland (Betty), Kenny Boland (Dolly), Mike Boland (Marianne) and Barney Boland (Charlotte); and his sisters-in-law, Arnita Erickson, Nancy Roth and Maxine Honey. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for John.
