He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester and Charlotte Smith, Sr. (Brummer); his son Daniel Thomas Smith; and his sisters, Wanda Braund, Shirley Ann Smith and Mary Lou Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Smith (Blauvelt); his daughters, Tina Luzier (Geoff) and Kathy Feldman (Tom); his stepsons, Ben Blauvelt and Andrew Blauvelt (Chrystal); and his brothers, David Smith (Sandy) of Dubuque, IA and Fred Smith of California. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
