She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Thomas and Flora Pinkston (Morehead); her husband Robert E. Dempsey Jan; and her grandson Jason S. Lyerla. She is survived by: her children, Emily Wood (John) of Worden, James Dempsey (Donna) of Dorsey and Linda Cox of Bethalto; and her grandchildren, Amy Maher (Patrick), Jamie Goebel (Brian), Sarah Johnson (Luke), Andrew Wood, Amanda Hammons (Russell) and Tyler Cox (Chelsi). She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.
