He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert F. Dale and Margaret E. Irwin (Umphryes); and his brother Robert "Bobby" E. Dale (Sandy). He is survived by: his stepfather Guy "Doyle" Irwin; his grandchildren, Sarah B. Chalberg (Bill) of Downers Grove, Amber N. Higgins (Sean) of Bunker Hill and Andrew J. Brooks of Alton; his great grandchildren, Grace, Harry, Ivar Chalberg and Cheyann Higgins; and his sister Betty Dale (Jim) of Peoria.
