With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorotha Joan Short (East Alton, Illinois), born in Winchester, Illinois, who passed away on January 26, 2021 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Tendick and Cora Tendick (Coats); her husband Merle Glenn Short; her parents-in-law, Raymond and Lora Short (Field); her nephew Curtis Short; her siblings, Don, Mack Tendick, Alma Marie Tendick and CloAnn McGlasson; her daughter-in-law Arlene Short; and her sister-in-law Lois Pruitt (Short).
She is survived by: her siblings, Tom Tendick (Betty), Mo Tendick (Jamie) and Trudy Hayes (Bo); her children, Steve Short (Linda) of Manito, IL, Mike Short (Lisa) of Cottage Hills, Tim Short (Karla) of Cottage Hills, Chuck Short (Christie) of Cottage Hills and Debra Marie Short of Alhambra; her grandchildren, Steven Ray, Jason Alan, Brittany Rachelle, Jenna Leigh, Dylan Reece, Matthew Glenn, Drake James and Ace Alan; her great grandchildren, Mason, Sarah, Sophia, Ethan Ray, Gentry, Jordan and Skyler; and her great great grandchild Nathan.
Due to the Covid 19 restrictions graveside services are being limited to family only and will be held at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
