It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Jean Nelson (Earlville, Illinois), born in Seneca, Illinois, who passed away on June 5, 2018, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Valentinsen and Sigrid Valentinsen (Rorem); and her brother-in-law Clifford Hatland. She is survived by: her husband LaVerne of Earlville, IL; her children, Kathy Lock (Jon) of Lexington, IL and Mark Nelson of Earlville, IL; her grandchildren, Matthew Lock (Hallie) of Danville, IL, Hunter Lock of Lexington, IL and Mya Nelson of Earlville, IL; and her siblings, Gloria Hatland of DeKalb, IL and Wayne Valentinsen (Nancy) of Ottawa, IL. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
