He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark Carter and Jane Carter (Aitken); and his siblings, Marion Carter Cody, Gwendolyn Carter Shaddle, Forrest and Howard Carter.

He is survived by: his spouse LaVerle Lee; his children, Harold Carter of Earlville and Jean Imel (Larry) of Earlville; his granddaughters, Kristy Actis (Mark) of Earlville and Jill Sondgeroth (Andrew) of Germantown Hills; and his great grandchildren, Carter Imel, Avery Strohm, Payton Actis, Emma, Ben, Hannah and William Sondgeroth.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending services are kindly asked to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

Memorials may be directed to the Earlville United Presbyterian Church or the Earlville Community Historical Society.
