He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Ward and Mardelle Ward (Whiteside); his wife Gloria J. Peterson; his son Richard L. Ward; and his son-in-law Jerry M. Milton Sr. (Zoe).
He is survived by: his family Jerry; his daughter Pamela J. Milton; his brother-in-law John LeRoy Claypool; his cousin Joanne Mickelson; and his close friend Sammy. He is also survived by 4 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.
