With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Andrew Joseph Helwig of Durand, Illinois, born in Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on August 2, 2020 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Helwig and Philomena Helwig (Wojcik); his grandson Caden Helwig; and his siblings, Adrian Helwig, John Helwig, Patricia Sumpter and Charles Helwig.
He is survived by: his significant other Shirley Clark; his sons, Andrew J. Helwig, Jr. (Stephanie), Christopher T. Helwig, Michael Wells and Tommy Wells; his grandchildren, Kelsey, Brianna Helwig, Evan, Thomas Wells and Kayla Wells; his siblings, Ann Breeze, Anthony Helwig, Thomas Helwig (Marcella), Bernadette Conner (Alan), Tess Wilke (Larry) and Justine Helwig (Dale); and his sister-in-law Janet Kehm Helwig. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
