He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys (Green) and Clifford A; his brothers, Clifford and Kenneth (Mary Lou); his son Rodney; his daughter-in-law Jeannie; his son Douglas; his daughter-in-law Becky (Frank); his stepson Gary Griggs; and his former wife Mary Lou Fehr.

He is survived by: his wife Clara (Strawbridge); his son Bradley Sumner; his daughters-in-law, Linda Sumner (Mayhew) and Alayna Sumner (Thomas); his stepchildren, Patty McEvoy and Dewayne Griggs (MaryAnn); and his daughters-in-law, Andrea Griggs and Clara. He is also survived by 18 Grandkids, 19 Great Grandkids and 5 Great Great Grandkids.
