It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maureen M. Wetzel of Dunlap, Illinois, born in Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on December 4, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sydney Cain and Josephine Cain (Biggins); her husband Ray E. Wetzel; her brothers, Richard Cain and Vincent Cain; and her in-laws, Tiffany Cain, Martin Murray, Dale Oakley and Sue Cain.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Jo Ghighi (Paul) of Peoria, Karen Callahan (Bruce) of Peoria, Michael Wetzel (Lisa) of Peoria, Christy Sullivan of Peoria and John Wetzel (Gina) of Peoria; and her brother-in-law John Wetzel (Aggie) of Oceanside, CA.. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; three siblings.
In lieu of flowers preferred memorials in Maureen's memory may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church.
