She was predeceased by: her parents, Kermit "Swede" and Veronica (Gilles); and her brother Ronald. She is survived by: her significant other James L. Dixon; her children, Jamie Shanahan (Jason) of Dracut and Stacey Dixon of Peoria; her grandsons, Evan and Connor Shanahan; her daughter Erica Frantz of Peoria; and her sister Sharon Weaver (Jack) of Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials made in Kathy's honor be made to the Richard Owens Hospice House or Sophia's Kitchen.
