He was predeceased by: his parents, William G. Poiter, and Matilda Poiter, Sr. (Harsy); and his sisters, Evelyn Rowland, Pauline McCollum and Wilma Jean Poiter.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Dean; his sons, Brandon Poiter (Stephanie) of Du Quoin and Michael Poiter (Jennifer) of Du Quoin; and his grandchildren, Sydney Jaloudi (Kutaibah), Audrey Poiter, Olivia Poiter, Jameson Poiter, Maggie Poiter and Marion Poiter.
Friends may make memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Sacred Heart Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
