It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Violet T. Van Hoorebeke of Du Quoin, Illinois, who passed away on August 23, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Schmidgall and Thelma Irene Schmidgall (Biggs); her sons, David Melvin and Michael Melvin; and her siblings, George Schmidgall, Frank Schmidgall, Naomi Schmidgall and Barbara Taylor.
She is survived by: her daughter Eunice Jacoby (Gary) of Du Quoin; and her grandchildren, Rebecca Morgan of Derby, KS, Brian Morgan (Dee) of Pinckneyville, Jennifer Schomp of New Jersey, Clifford Melvin Jr. of Du Quoin, Kathy Melvin of St. Johns, Krysten Melvin of St. Johns, Michael Eugene Melvin of Coello, Michael Joe Melvin of St. Johns, Schyler Melvin of St. Johns, Camerron Melvin of St. Johns, Angela Campbell of Macon, GA, Jessica Long of Macon, GA and David Melvin, Jr. (Tiffany) of Du Quoin. She is also survived by thirty great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
