He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Marion and Wanda Juanita Teel (Eubanks). He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Sauerhage; his children, Douglas Teel (Nikki) of Tamaroa, Julie Harris (David) of Du Quoin, Andrew Teel (Havilah) of Du Quoin and Marita Fisher (Matt) of Wisconsin; his stepdaughters, Adrienne Sauerhage of Sparta and Elizabeth Lueker (Jamie) of Pinckneyville; his sister Sharon Dean (Bob) of Washington, IL; his grandchildren, Lucas Teel, Brevin Teel, Isaac Teel, Vanessa Teel, Zachary Teel, Carson Teel, Benjamin Teel, Presleigh Teel, Dayton Teel, Aubrey Harris, Kiera Harris, Natalia Harris, Miriam Teel, Silas Teel, Gideon Teel, Naomi Teel, Bryce Fisher and Colleen Fisher; and his stepgrandchildren, Adrian Owens, Michael Lively, Jonathan Lively, Brandon Lueker and Katlyn Zoeckler. He is also survived by nine step great grandchildren.
