He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Keeler and Mable Keeler (Howell); his wife Mary L. "Tootie" Scarlett; his son-in-law Gary Showalter; and his siblings, Marshall Keeler, Ralph Keeler, Faye Roberts and Betty Licata.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Broha of Pinckneyville and Jenylle Wathen (Van) of Du Quoin; his grandson Kline Peradotta (Tiffany) of Highland; and his great grandchild Dayton Reid Peradotta of Highland.
