Heape and Minnie Heape (Bishop); his spouses, Sharon Kay Miller and Du Quoin; his children, Todd Heape (Susan) of Du Quoin, Susan Harsha (Ted) of Du Quoin and Jill Marek (Steve) of Du Quoin; his siblings, Lucille Woodside (Dennis) of Pinckneyville, Phillip Heape (Carole) of Du Quoin, John Heape (Cindy) of Tamaroa and Carroll Heape (Karen) of Tamaroa; his grandchildren, Jennifer Breyman, Dillon Heape, Alexander Heape (Taylor), Hadley Kuhnert (Craig) and Hannah Marek; and his great grandchildren, Beau Breyman and Callie Breyman. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and close friends.
