He was predeceased by: his parents, Noel M. Porter and Vaneta Marie Porter (Ritch); his granddaughter Michelle Porter Hawkins; and his brother Donald Porter. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn J. Hight; his children, Ron Porter (Laura) of Du Quoin, Karen Wolfe (Joe) of Du Quoin, Lynn Hugus (Scott McKee) of Palm Harbor, FL and Jill Hester (Richard) of Du Quoin; and his grandchildren, Matt Wolfe (Audra), Andrea Wolfe, Trampas Porter (Jessie), Jennifer Bleyer (AJ), Chance Hugus, Blake Hester (Ashlee) and Blair Collum (Chris). He is also survived by six great grandchildren and one great granddaughter on the way, several nieces and nephews.
Phase Four Restore allows 50 attendees, using social distancing guidelines.
Friends may make memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin, Alzheimer's Association, Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life, or Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
