It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marcella Theresa Fontana of Du Quoin, Illinois, born in Pinckneyville, Illinois, who passed away on December 17, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Epplin and Theresa Epplin (Hoffmann); her spouse Valentine Dominic Fontana; her daughter Marcia Stacey; her siblings, Christina Buettner, Hildegard Poe, Herman Epplin, Florence Eisfelder, Jacob Epplin and John Epplin; and her granddaughter Tracey Lynn Fontana.
She is survived by: her children, Ron Fontana (Betty) of Du Quoin, Rosalie Beckerle (Jack) of St. Peters, MO, Theresa Swain (Ron) of Du Quoin and Joan Zickus (John) of Maryville, IL; and her grandchildren, Roxanne Kohlbrecher (Craig), Christopher Beckerle (Andrea), Jeremy Swain (Stephanie), Dustin Swain, Donnielle Bullar (Phil), Chad Wampler (Laura) and Craig Stacey (Rachel). She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.
