She was predeceased by: her parents, George Short and Georgia Short (Miller); her husband Louis A. "Popeye" Hirsch; her son Jerry Hirsch; and her siblings, Gladys Stanley, Loren Short and Lester Short.

She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Kunkel (Ed) of Tamaroa and Janet Hagerling of Du Quoin; her granddaughters, Kelli Boss (Adam) of Du Quoin, Kathi Jones (Matt) of Tamaroa and Becky Hagerling of Du Quoin; her great grandchildren, Gena Adams (Steve) of Du Quoin, Kayla Bower (Boss) of Du Quoin, Jonathan Boss (Hannah) of Du Quoin, Madison Jones (Michael Smith) of Columbia, MO and Zachery Jones of Tamaroa; and her great great grandchildren, David, Lia, Cassidy, Bella and Jonah. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
