Karl Joseph Ritter Obituary

We are sad to announce that on April 24, 2025, at the age of 78, Karl Joseph Ritter of Du Quoin, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Syl Ritter and Geraldine "Jerry" Ritter (Jones). He is survived by: his sister Carolyn Davis (Jim) of Pinckneyville; his nephews, John Davis (Lindsey) of Du Quoin and Tim Davis of Pinckneyville; his niece Elizabeth Benson (Steve) of Du Quoin; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Michelle McQueen, Shedret of Du Quoin, Alaric Davis of Mt. Vernon, Adalynn Davis of Christopher, Drake Davis of Du Quoin, Joe Davis of Christopher and Grayson Benson of Du Quoin; and also, Jaxon Davis of Du Quoin, Jayden Davis of Du Quoin, Raiden Nesby of Du Quoin and Kyden Davis of Du Quoin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Searby Funeral Homes (130 S Washington St, Du Quoin, IL 62832). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (100 W Main St, Du Quoin, IL 62832).

Friends may make memorials to Masses or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
