With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John L. Caraker Sr. of Du Quoin, Illinois, born in Herrin, Illinois, who passed away on October 14, 2022 at the age of 82. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John L. Caraker Sr. to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Caraker and Dorothy Caraker (Reames); his wife Catherine Thornton; and his siblings, Tom Caraker and Opal June Bowen.
He is survived by: his children, John L. Caraker, Jr. of Du Quoin, Danny M. Caraker (Laura) of Sikeston, MO, Daren V. Caraker (Pamela) of Du Quoin, Sherrie Weinhoffer (Andy Dilday), Shannon H. Caraker (Amy) of Du Quoin, Misty D. Lively of Carlyle, IL and Nathan Caraker of Sparta. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
