He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Lively and Alice Lively (King); his wife Dena Downen; his son Tracy Lively; his grandson Mark Andrew Norris; and his siblings, Mike Lively, Johnny Lively and Linda Conover.

He is survived by: his children, Mindy Martin (Rick) of Du Quoin, Tina Norris (Mark) of Du Quoin and Stephen Lively (Donna) of Galatia; his siblings, Rod Lively of Du Quoin, Jim Lively of Du Quoin, Cliff Lively (Marilyn) of Du Quoin, Ruth Fisher of Anna, Sue Simmons of Du Quoin, Shirley Ramsey (Grover) of Du Quoin, Vickie Hendrix (Jack) of Anna and Sharon Brooks of Du Quoin; and his grandchildren, Stephen Daniel Lively, Seth Lively, Stefanie Uzzle, Melissa Tilley, Mandie Davis, Nicholas Martin, Traci Reynolds and Tifani Sargent. He is also survived by twenty-one great grandchildren.
