With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Homer Lamoyne Rains of Du Quoin, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Homer and Lorene Rains (Bourland); his wife Lillian Mae Smith; and his siblings, Lyla Jean Smith and Bobby Rains.

He is survived by: his daughters, Tracy Taylor (Bill) of Du Quoin and Lisa Cook (Jeff) of Du Quoin; his grandchildren, Nolen McIntire (Christa), Spencer Cook (Sarah), Shalane Jones (Stephen), Morgan Fitterer (Tyler), Cameryn Degler (Jon) and Carleigh Spain (Brandon); his stepgranddaughters, Kacie Jones (Nathan) and Toni Doerr (Jeff); his great grandchildren, Laina, Landry, Carter, Brantley, Emereigh, Archer, Lennon, Shay, Haidyn and Noble; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Stella, Micah, Owen, Ezra, Jude, River and Susie; and his sister Joan Endres. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Miner's Cemetery or Old Du Quoin Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
