Helen Elizabeth Perryman Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Elizabeth Perryman (Du Quoin, Illinois), born in Royalton, Illinois, who passed away on December 5, 2020 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Cornelius Underwood and Elona Underwood (Bretch); her husband Lester Perryman; her grandson Shawn Wiggins; and her siblings, Nina Martin, Frieda Meier, Wilma Havens, Cornelius "Junior" Underwood and Bill Underwood.

She is survived by: her children, Mickey, Don Perryman (Alice) of Elkville, Mick Perryman (Marcia) of Murphysboro and Pat Shimkus (Richard) of West Frankfort; her grandchildren, Brad Wiggins of West Frankfort, Deborah Ciolino (Ken) of Fort Myers, FL, Denise Mezo of De Soto, Dalice Torres (Hiram) of Elkville, Deon Perryman (Mary) of Springfield, Kristal Williams (Gordon) of Sparta, Jodi Boese (Mike) of Carterville, Dr. Richard Perryman (Lanette) of Coronado, CA, Jason Shimkus of Marion and James Shimkus (Tiffany) of Freeman Spur; her brother Herbert Underwood (Beverly) of Royalton; her sisters-in-law, Mary Underwood of Elkville and Lois Underwood of Marion; and also Donna Stice. She is also survived by 27 great grandchildren, 23 great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church in Elkville or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
