He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar "Pete" and Margaret Dorsey (Fisher); his former spouses, Mary Ellen Huite and Shirley Jean Gates; his wife Sharon Fahrenbocker; and his son Brandon Gates of Springfield, IL..
He is survived by: his children, Becky Burns of Indiana, Samuel Gates of Springfield, IL, Mike Dorsey of Riverton, IL, Lauana Wright (Brett) of Du Quoin, Phineas "Tony" Gates (Gena) of Divernon, IL, Eddie Dorsey of Springfield, IL, Jerry Dorsey of Du Quoin, Damon Dorsey (Romayne) of Indiana, Debbie Bennett of Springfield, IL, Nancy Fahrenbocker-Duffey of Springfield, IL and Sherry Fahrenbocker-Collins of Ohio; and his siblings, Margie Dorsey-Lively of Du Quoin, Larry Dorsey of Sesser and Bobby Dorsey (Sue) of Springfield, IL. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
