He was predeceased by: his parents, John Durkota and Helen Durkota (Barno); his wife Helen M. Urbanovit; and his grandchildren, Julie Trout, Blake Trout and Kirrah Durkota.

He is survived by: his children, John Durkota (Pam) of Atlanta, GA, Vickie Trout (Rick) of Mt. Vernon, IL, David Durkota (Gail) of Du Quoin and Debra Bartnicki (Nathan) of Du Quoin; his grandchildren, Stephen Durkota (Alise) of Duluth, GA, Tyler Durkota (Rebecca) of Seattle, WA, Josh Durkota of Reno, NV, Derick Trout (Randa) of Mt. Vernon, IL, Alexia Trout of Mt. Vernon, IL, Hanna Bartnicki of Du Quoin, C. J and Abram Durkota of Du Quoin; his great grandchildren, Macylee Durkota, Nicholas Durkota, Susie-Faye Durkota, Chesney Trout and Eva Trout; his brother Michael Durkota of Perryville, MO.; and also Rilan Pressgrove of Belle Rive, IL.
