In loving memory of David William Ryan of Du Quoin, Illinois, who departed this world on January 6, 2025 at the age of 76. David William leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Louis and Vivian Laverne Ryan (Watts); his former wife Clara Ryan; his son-in-law Mark Schmidgall; his nephew Christopher Ryan; and his mother-in-law Marcella Ballheimer.
He is survived by: his spouse Jackie Rae Short (Bird); his children, Donnie Ryan of Herrin and Angela Ryan Robinson of Texas; his stepchildren, Lynn Schmidgall of Patton, MO, Lisa Eisenhauer (Gary) of Du Quoin and Laci Delisle (Kevin) of Du Quoin; his brother Robert Ryan (Connie) of Dowell; and his niece Candy Ryan of Dowell. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Searby Funeral Homes (130 S Washington St, Du Quoin, IL 62832). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
