He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Lon and Geraldine Murial Kowzan (Hill); his parents-in-law, J. N. and Catherine Crouch; and his sister-in-law Mary Kay Crouch.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Jean Crouch; his children, Karen Hoskins (Shohn) of California, James N. Kowzan (Karen Morgan Williams) of Du Quoin, Leslie Ann Pronold (Michael) of Delafield, WI and Ross Alan Kowzan (Sara) of Louisville, KY; his grandchildren, Jennifer Hoskins, Shohna Hoskins, Kristi Hoskins, Kannon Kowzan, Lily Pronold, Archer Pronold, Quinn Kowzan and Porter James Kowzan; and his brothers, Joseph Kowzan (Jane) of Fort Madison, IA and Gerald Kowzan (Vickie) of Englewood, FL..

In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorials to the V.F.W. Honor Guard and will be accepted at the funeral home.
