It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Cynthia A. Melvin of Du Quoin, Illinois, who passed away on March 17, 2025, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Bruns and Sally Bruns (Hagene); and her brother Dennis Bruns. She is survived by: her husband Dr. John Melvin of Du Quoin, IL; her children, Mallory Henk (Matthew) of Pinckneyville, IL and Brenden Blades of Du Quoin, IL; her stepdaughter Jennifer Crain (Jordan) of Du Quoin, IL; her stepgrandchildren, Collin, Dylan Henk, River and Fletcher Crain; her sister-in-law Diane Bruns of Pinckneyville, IL.; and also Major Jason Melvin.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (104 N Washington St, Du Quoin, IL 62832). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Friends may make memorials to St. Bruno Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
