He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd McKinnies and Lucille McKinnies (Tippy); his former wife Wilma D. Cobb; his wife Brenda Taylor; his children, John McKinnies and Connie Hughes; and his brothers, Robert McKinnies and Bill McKinnies.

He is survived by: his children, Dan McKinnies (Karla) of Du Quoin, LaVonna Kerley of Du Quoin, Chuck McKinnies (Merla) of Du Quoin and David McKinnies (Angie) of Du Quoin; his children-in-law, Marsha McKinnies of Du Quoin and Ed Hughes of Du Quoin; and his sister Darla Rouleau of Flint, MI. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren.
