He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles M. Gaines and Florence Gaines (McGehee); and his siblings, Chester Gaines and Doris Gaines. He is survived by: his former wife Nina Doris Hosick; his spouse Du Quoin; his children, Doris Gregory (Cliff) of Du Quoin, Debbie Heck (Greg) of Du Quoin, Charles Gaines, Jr. (Monica) of Du Quoin, Mike Gaines (Sherry) of Tamaroa and Craig Gaines (Jamie) of Du Quoin; and his sisters, Wilma Reever of Fairfield and Eloise Gaines of Carmi. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
