Merle M. Richerson Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Merle M. Richerson of Downers Grove, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 14, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dorothy Dougherty and George Dougherty; her daughters, Peggi Masella Pooler and Patti Masella Basford; her siblings, Bud Dougherty and Karen Mocarski; her granddaughter Cyndi Gabrysiak; and her grandmother Red Lips.

She is survived by: her children, Gene Masella, Terri Holapple (Wayne), Tom Masella, Kevin Masella (Mary), Marijane Kelly (Jim) and John Masella (Diana). She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as a multitude of friends.

In lieu of flowers, my mom would have preferred any donations go to the research and treatment of Breast Cancer or the American Cancer Society.
