James Michael Helm Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Michael Helm of Dongola, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 2, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Anita Brown Helm. He is survived by: his wife Christine Earnhart Helm; his daughter Dr. Paige Helm Maginel (John); his grandsons, Henry James Maginel of Dongola and Bryce Helm Massey of Anna; his sister Jennifer Helm Flowers of Austin; his brother-in-law Kenton Earnhart (Beverly) of Dongola; and his nieces and nephews, Dr. John Van Earnhart (Stacy), Justin Earnhart (Lori), Adrienne Jacobsen (Brett) of Atlanta, Alison Blake (Greg) of Austin, Alyssa, Lauren, Nicole, Will, Presley, Cate and Claire.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Crain Funeral Home - Dongola (106 NW Front St, Dongola, IL 62926). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 1:45 PM to 2:15 PM at the St. John's Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital in his memory as they provided wonderful care for him as a child.
