He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold R. Barnes and Ida Mae Barnes (Warrenfelts); his children, Kimberly and Jeff; and his great grandchild Amora Stokes.

He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Yates of Dixon; his sons, Brian Barnes and William L. Barnes, Jr.; and his siblings, Robert Barnes (Pat), Dave Barnes (Toby) and Norma Tollison. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

A memorial has been established.
