He was predeceased by: his parents, Vito Mercurio and Mary Mercurio (Van Den Bosch); his wife Susan McGovern; and his brothers, Robert Mercurio and Robert Van Overmeiren.

He is survived by: his daughter Michele Hopp of Dixon; his grandsons, Thomas Hopp and Alan Hopp; and his brother Richard Van Overmeiren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
