He was predeceased by: his former wife Lois Ann Swalve; his parents, Lewis DeVries and Helen DeVries (Vietmeier); and his sister Ruth Ann Keating (Ray). He is survived by: his wife Pauline; his sons, Dan DeVries (Molly) of Houston, TX and David DeVries (Marcia); his stepdaughter Cindy (Randy); his grandchildren, Jonathan DeVries (Amy) of Anchorage, AK, Hannah Williamson (Larry) of Jackson, MS, Connor DeVries of Houston, TX and Cayley DeVries of Houston, TX; his stepgrandchildren, Ryan Reuter (Kristen) of Murray, UT and Amber Messer (Chad) of Golden, CO; his great grandchildren, Benaiah, Charese, Ezekiel and Elijah DeVries; and his stepgreat-granddaughter Ava Messer.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church (131 N Court St, Dixon, IL 61021). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Forreston Grove Cemetery.
