It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Opal Laverne Bowers (Dixon, Illinois), who passed away on November 30, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Thompson and Hazel Thompson (Bridgman); her son Rick Bowers (Deborah) of Dixon; her husband Merle Bowers; and her siblings, Joan Miller and Ralph Duane Thompson.
She is survived by: her siblings, Donald Thompson and Mary Jane Carr; her sons, Kevin Bowers (Debra) of Dixon, Jerry Bowers (Jill) of Oregon and Scott Bowers (Wendy) of Milledgeville; her grandchildren, Angela Dresden (Drew), Sarah Riggs (Dan), Tyler Bowers, Amanda Dinges (Dean), Heather Johns (Troy), Matt Bowers (Victoria), Colton Saunders and Kyle Bowers; and her great grandchildren, Alexis, Madison Dresden, Abigail Riggs, Carson, Caroline Dinges, Carter, Chloe Johns, Kelvin Bowers and Emma Lee Saunders. She is also survived by five children, having 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Dixon Church of the Brethren and Habitat for Humanity.
