He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard McCarty and Pauline McCarty (McVey); his wife Sheila McCarty (Morris); and his brother Todd McCarty. He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Liescheidt (Keith) of Normal, IL, David Vancil (Kris) of Dittmer, MO and Sheila Hummel of Dixon, IL.; his grandchildren, Dennis Vancil of Dittmer, MO, Charlie Vancil of New York City, Devon Fane of Dixon, Samantha Dailey (Joseph) of Dixon and Alyssa Hummel (Jeff Silva) of Como, IL; his pet Macie Rae Liescheidt of Normal, IL.; his siblings, Larry McCarty (Linda), Rick McCarty (Carol), Kaye McCarty and Nelson McCarty (Linda); and his sister-in-law Nancy Varga (John). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Ltd. (213 Crawford Ave, Dixon, IL 61021). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. An entombment was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens (1121 N Galena Ave, Dixon, IL 61021).
Memorials may be directed to the General Fund at the American Legion Post 12 in Dixon.
