He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornealius Patterson and Rose Patterson (Collins); and his siblings, Josephine M. LeBlanc, Dorothy M. Powers, Rosie L. Coleman and Cornealius Patterson, Jr..
He is survived by: his son Alexander W. Patterson; his grandson Hakeem A. Patterson; and his sister-in-law Lois Patterson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
