Hiram Donald Ludwig Jr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Hiram Donald Ludwig Jr. of Dixon, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 4, 2024 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hiram B. Ludwig and Esther Ludwig (Davison); his wife Janette Ludwig; his son Larry Ludwig; his granddaughter Elizabeth Ludwig; and his siblings, Melvin Ludwig, James Ludwig, Gerald Ludwig, Edris Myers, Neva Becker and Wanda Hendrickson.
He is survived by: his children, Scott Ludwig of Dixon, Curtis Ludwig (Debbie) of Loves Park, IL, Connie Collier of Dixon and Lois Gill (Greg) of Rockford; his daughter-in-law Nancy Ludwig of Dekalb, IL; and his grandchildren, Tiffany Willstead (Brian), Jarrett Ludwig, Janelle Gulino (Christopher), Kelli Ludwig, Russell Ludwig, Eric Collier (Kendra Considine), Jeff Collier (Tory), Peter Alba (Danielle Lewis), Christi McWilliams (Al), Nicole Frossard (Greg) and Jennifer Hopkins (Melissa). He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended relatives.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Ltd. (213 Crawford Ave, Dixon, IL 61021). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens (1121 N Galena Ave, Dixon, IL 61021).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Pancreatic Cancer ACS and/or The Meadows of Franklin Grove Activity Program. The family has chosen to send donations to Pancreatic Cancer ACSDonate Now (https://donate.cancer.org).
