He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Knickrehm and Mary Knickrehm (Lance); and his siblings, Andrew Knickrehm, Chuck Knickrehm and Mary Jeanette "Janey" Schell.
He is survived by: his son Alex Knickrehm of Milwaukee, WI; his stepmother Carla Knickrehm; and his siblings, William Knickrehm, David Knickrehm, Robert Knickrehm and Alice Ann Steward (Dan). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He actively promoted Alzheimer's events, the Newman Central Catholic High School Nexus dinners, Hospice of the Rock River Valley, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Rotary Shrimp Boils, and the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, to name only a few. Al could also often be spotted at many charity golf events in his bright yellow golf cart, which was a replica of a '57 Chevy.
