He was predeceased by: his parents, Elza Byars and Edith Byars (Burge); and his sister-in-law Ladonna Marlow. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Chambliss; his children, Tammy Austin (Brad) of Marlow and Craig Byars (Kathy) of Mt. Vernon; his grandchildren, Shane Austin (Autumn) of St. Louis, Zane Austin of Marlow and Maria Byars of Mt. Vernon; and his siblings, Betty Austin (Lavern) of Mt. Vernon and Edgar Byars (Janet) of Texico. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
