He was predeceased by: his parents, John Luther and Thelma Jean Stroud (Young); his wife Susan Kay Johnson; and his siblings, Linda Jean Talley and Joseph Henry Stroud.
He is survived by: his sons, Jerrod Stroud (Brandy) of Bonnie and Donald "Boulder" Richard Stroud, Jr. of Mt. Vernon; his stepchildren, Rebecca Russell (Timothy) of Charleston and Larry Johnson of Centralia, Illinois; and his siblings, Thomas Luther Stroud, William J. Stroud, John Wayne Stroud, Jerry Lee Stroud and Patricia Baker. He is also survived by several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
