He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy Douthit and Grace Douthit (Mooney); and his siblings, Marilyn Blackwell, Wilma Mays, Shirley Phelps, Voris "Bud" Douthit and Gene Douthit.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Douthit of Dix; his children, David Douthit of Dix and Debbie Hails (Brad) of Woodlawn; his grandchildren, Troy Hails (Jennifer), Kaci Dunbar (Klayton) and Haden Hails; his great grandchildren, Daemean, Cale, Taylen and Treyson; and his sister Ramona Flanagan (Mike) of Mt. Vernon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
