He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert William and Mary Catherine Motley Gibson; and his brother William "Bill" Gibson. He is survived by: his significant other Kathy Kern; his daughter Susie Corp; and his sisters, Anna Holder and Patricia Gibson. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
