He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Carter and Eleanor Parker Carter; his son Richard Wade Carter; his sister Jackie Kopp; his wife Betty Baker; his sons, Gary Carter, Jr. (Jaimee) and Eric Carter (Mary); and his daughter-in-law Jodi Carter. He was also cherished by six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
