He was predeceased by: his parents, James McWhorter and Thelma McWhorter (Campton); his sons, Terry and Larry McWhorter; his siblings, William, Jim, Lonnie, Jerry McWhorter and Eda Cook; and his grandchildren, Ashley McWhorter and Shantih Hewkin.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda McWhorter of Dieterich; his children, Joseph McWhorter of Dieterich, Donna Kramer of Montrose and Carol Hewkin (Doug) of Dieterich; and his siblings, Leroy Campton (Carolyn) of Funkhouser, Lucille Tarpley of Flora, Leona Butts of Michigan and Cleta Colclasure of Farina. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
