She is survived by: her husband Roger Newenham; her children, Monica Dorsey (Rusty) of Beardstown, Illinois, Rob Newenham (Sheila) of Athol, Idaho and Melissa Cowman (Ron) of Oak Ridge; her grandchildren, Oliver Hoenes (Allie Dawson), Colten Hoenes, Madison Brown (Lewis) and Mason Cowman; her siblings, Marie Schmidt of Effingham, Illinois, Rose Croak (Ron) of St. Louis, Missouri and Richard Hawickhorst (Wendy) of Teutopolis, Illinois; and her sister-in-law Sandy Hawickhorst (Bernard) of St. Louis, Missouri..

In loving memory of Joan, memorials may be made to St. Isidore The Farmer Parish or Crossroads Cancer Center in Effingham, Illinois.
