He was predeceased by: his parents, James Madison and Alma Nell Poynter (Woody); his wife Lelia Marie Richars; and his siblings, Wanda Garbe and James Morris Poynter.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca Jane "Becky" Bailey (James), Martha Lee "Marty" Bahrns (Butch) and Rhonda Jean McManaway (Cleo); and his grandchildren, Aaron McManaway (Mindie), Devin McManaway (Kari), Kiley Bohnhoff (Adam) and Craig Bailey (Ashley).
